Rita Koselka has had a successful 20 year career as a journalist and business consultant. She has written influential articles for Forbes, Fortune, Wired, Barron’s, Institutional Investor, and Nature among others. Her work is included in the curricula of Harvard and Wharton business schools.
Rita began her career as an investment banker at CS First Boston where she worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department. With a lifelong love of writing, she then moved to business journalism, rising to become senior editor of Forbes Magazine and Editorial head of the Forbes Conference Group. In this capacity, she developed the programs and moderated the podium for the Forbes CEO, CMO and CTO conferences interviewing prominent CEOs, Nobel Laureates, and political leaders. As a journalist, she specialized in finance, technology and the intersection of academic insight and business experience. She also wrote a venture capital column.
She moved to McKinsey and Company where she was made Director of Marketing for the West Coast and an editor of the McKinsey Quarterly. She directed the firm’s reputation building activities in Silicon Valley and led several knowledge development efforts. She was responsible for the creation of an institutional partnership between McKinsey and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) for knowledge sharing and event sponsoring and involved in several client projects with public sector entities. She also worked for Global Business Network, a Monitor Group Company, particularly on multi year project working with major public sector institutions upgrading their knowledge development and dissemination process.
Rita was a founding member of Hope to Action, Women for Climate Protection and is active on the board of Valley Montessori School. She had continued pursuing her own educational interests with graduate level studies at Stanford, the Santa Fe Institute, Oxford University, the University of Iowa and the Sorbonne. Rita has an MBA from Harvard University and BA cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
